Rihanna debuted pregnancy during the Super Bowl Halftime show
For the Super Bowl LVII half-time show, fans expected Rihanna to perform a new song or announce she was dropping a new album. Little did they know that Rihanna was “expecting” more. She immediately grabbed everyone’s attention when she began her performance on a suspended platform hanging more than 60 feet in the air. She wore a striking red outfit with many backup dancers all in white. Wearing a huge coat that concealed her bump until the end, she opened her jacket to reveal the bump for only a second, with the cameras quickly cutting away, leaving the audience to speculate. She became the first pregnant woman to perform at the Super Bowl.
Kelce Brothers
Jason and Travis Kelce broke the Internet after February’s Super Bowl when their teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, played against each other. Both graduated from the University of Cincinnati where Jason was told he was never going to be good enough and Travis’ football career almost ended due to a failed drug test. Jason now plays for the Philadelphia Eagles as a fan-favorite and the highest-paid center in the NFL. Travis is a record-breaking tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and has recently made headlines for his relationship with Taylor Swift. When not playing football, the two brothers host a podcast together, “New Heights.”
Prince Harry’s Book
Prince Harry released his memoir, Spare, earlier this year on January 23. It quickly skyrocketed, breaking the record for fastest-selling nonfiction book of all time, during the first week of its release. The book gives a glance into his life, along with that of the royal family’s life as well. He reveals personal information in his memoir, such as his drug use as a teen and the amount of kills he had while in Afghanistan. He even shares how William attacked him during a conversation about Harry’s wife, Meghan. The book became insanely popular, taking over social media feeds and providing a new perspective on royal life.
Selena Gomez v Hailey Bieber
At the beginning of this year, Selena Gomez posted a picture of herself on a boat, wearing a bikini. She faced lots of comments about her body and her weight gain. The next day, Hailey Bieber posed with Kendall Jenner to make a TikTok with the sound, “I’m not saying she deserved it; but God’s timing is always right.” As a result, Bieber then received a lot of backlash for seemingly targeting Gomez. Bieber quickly clapped back saying it was a silly little video without throwing shade at anyone. Bieber has been shamed for throwing shade on Gomez before, and despite the hate she received, fans think she continued to bully Gomez on social media by shading her, without actually mentioning her. The beef has now faded, with both of them talking and sharing on social media that no hate will be accepted towards either of them.
