This year, the Ship’s Log will be running a brief feature on all new teachers and educational staff.  We have tried to pare down the information about the staff member and are including all the pertinent information about that staff member that he/she has shared with us.

  1. What is your background and experience in education prior to coming to CHS?

I got my start in education at the Kennedy Krieger Institute (KKI) in Baltimore, MD, working with students with special needs. During my time at KKI, I earned my masters degree in education. For the past nine years, I have been a school counselor at Long Reach High School in Columbia, MD. I was also the varsity baseball coach for seven years.

 

  1. What made you come to CHS?

I was ready to come back home to New Jersey and raise my family here. I have numerous relatives that live in Cinnaminson and the surrounding area and I am very familiar with Burlington County.

 

  1. What do you have to offer to the students of CHS?

I have years of experience helping students achieve their higher education goals. I am very familiar with the college application process , testing, admission, and financial aid. I also have experience in helping students navigate the stressors of life. Whether a student is having trouble academically, personally, socially, or with their family, I am confident that I will be able to help them overcome the obstacles in their lives.

 

  1. What drove you to become a teacher?

I am a people person and enjoy helping young people achieve their goals. I also value my free time and the schedule that being an educator provides.

 

  1. Outside of teaching what are your interests?

I love Philadelphia Sports!!!!!!E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles!!!!!!!

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and staying active.  I enjoy working with my hands whether it be renovating my home or working on my car. In the summer, I love the spending time on the beach with my family.

 

  1. Is there anything else about you that we should know?

I am very interested to get to know the students, families, and staff of Cinnaminson. Don’t hesitate to introduce yourself to me in the hallway. Whether you are on my caseload or not. Whether you have a questions about college or just want to talk about the Eagles game, its all good.
