This year, the Ship’s Log will be running a brief feature on all new teachers and educational staff.  We have tried to pare down the information about the staff member and are including all the pertinent information about that staff member that he/she has shared with us.

 

Name: Anthony Ferrante

Subject Taught: School Counselor, Grades 10-12 A-J

College Alma Mater(s): Rowan University, BA English and MA School Counseling

 

  1. What is your background and experience in education prior to coming to CHS?

I began my career working as an Educational Assistant in a Behavioral Disabilities Middle School classroom while I finished college. I taught high school English for five years, and then transitioned to School Counseling after finishing my Masters Degree. Most recently, I was Director of School Counseling for the past eight years at Maple Shade High School.

 

  1. What made you come to CHS?

The opportunity to work with students again.

 

  1. What do you have to offer to the students of CHS?

 An open, caring ear to help them navigate high school, as well as post secondary options.

 

  1. What drove you to become a teacher?

Wanting to help students grow, learn, and succeed.

 

  1. Outside of teaching what are your interests?

Good conversation with friends, live jazz, Phillies baseball

 

  1. Is there anything else about you that we should know?

 I am very excited to join CHS. My door is always open to students and staff.
