Having graduated from Cinnaminson High School in 2019, Mr. Benjamin Ross has returned to the High School – as a teacher this time. Filling in as a long term sub for Mrs. Patel, Ross teaches American Law and Modern World History.
Shortly after Ross graduated from Cinnaminson High School, he attended The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) and received a degree in history and education.
Ross said he wanted to become a teacher so he could see it “click” for students. He takes pleasure in learning and teaching about history.
“I just like talking about history. I liked learning about it in school,” Ross explained. “I had all the teachers here: Campbell, Schweitzer, and Matz… as well as I like teaching people and seeing it click for them.”
Despite it being Ross’s first year teaching at Cinnaminson, he has teaching experience to build on.
“I was at BCIT for the last half of last year, so technically this is my second school I am teaching at,” Ross said.
According to Ross, he said he applied to Cinnaminson because he had a positive experience here as a student and because he knows the staff is friendly and welcoming.
“Yeah I enjoyed school mostly… except math. Mr. Gill was cool, I just didn’t like the math,” Ross said.
Ross said he enjoys talking with his students and listening to their interests. In addition to getting to know his students better, Ross also said one of his goals is to try different activities every day to keep his students engaged during class.
When not teaching, Ross said he likes traveling and making chainmail (armor).
