“A Celebration of Opulence in Black Art and Expression”
On Saturday, February 25, 2023, the Cinnaminson High School Equity Committee hosted “A Celebration of Opulence in Black Art and Experience.” The event was free and open to everyone. The event featured food, vendors, an exhibit by Beverly Collin-Roberts, live music, spoken word, and dance.
Beverly Collins-Roberts, the featured artist, had a plethora of photographs displayed, and even snippets of her documentary. Collins-Roberts discovered the secret history of slavery at Pomona Hall in Camden, New Jersey. Her documentary recognizes the history and suffering of the enslaved Africans. Collins-Roberts spoke to the audience and detailed her journey as an artist.
